Resume objective help!!?
If the job add says "Applicants must specify they are applying for Electronic Controls Technician position" are you supposed to write this in your objective or just in the subject line of the e-mail? I'm thinking it should be in both so how does this sound: "To acquire the electronic controls technician position at John Deere."
I agree with you. Put it in both!
Your objective statement should read short and sweet like this:
"Employment Objective: Electronics Control Technician"
As an employer who has interviewed hundreds and gone through all the resumes, I can tell you that long-winded objective statements are not helpful, off-putting and a waste of valuable "word real estate". I am looking for some immediate indication that I am reading the resume of somebody that is looking for "this" specific job - not just looking for a job. A tight, specific objective statement is my first indicator that I am on the right track (and managers make this decision to read on in 5-seconds). A long self serving objective statement makes me feel like you are blowing smoke. Give me what I want quickly- an "Electronic Controls Technician"! That's all. (Realize that I might have 50 to 100 resumes to look at).
