what is the difference between an overhead cam engine and a push rod engine?
or really what i need to know is the comparison between the push rod motor and the overhead cam im taking a course in automotive and i have to write a 450 word essay about this subject any help would be greatly appreciated.

Overhead cam engines open and close the valves from the top; the cam is over the top of the engine and is designed as it turns to operate the valves.
A pushrod engine has the cam at the bottom, and since the cam is below the valves, it operates pushrods to move rocker arms for the opening and closing of the valves.
