Am I allowed to operate my dads equipment?
Hey I am 14 years old and I'm a pretty skilled heavy machinery operator and my dad is self imployed and being hit hard with a lot of work in the logging business and needs help...what age can I go to work with him and operate a piece of equipment? I.E. Bulldozer, harvester, forwarder, chipper, grinder...
There are some exemptions for apprentice/student-learner programs in some of these hazardous occupations, but harvester, chipper, and grinder is consider hazardous and you must be 18 yr old .
