That depends on what type of power source your looking for.
If you're looking for power for a radio/amp or aux lighting, you may want to have the key in the acc position. If you want the accessory to only be powered when the vehicle is running, then you would place the key in the On position. If you want a constant source (never shut off) then don't turn the key on.
