I own a 75hp Evinrude O/B. It was only ran for 30 sec this year after minor repair. Any need to winterize it?
From what I know the boat was not in the water this year. The motor started up and ran well after a starter repair. It was only going for about 20-30 seconds before I killed the engine. Should I winterize it?
You'll always want to winterize your boat motor. They are too expensive to not take care of them. Also, it sounds like you don't know if there is water left in it. If you started it for the 20-30 seconds, there should be water in it; not for an over heating issue, but those rubber impellers get damaged very easily and need the water to lubricated them.
Follow what your manual tells you to do.
